I’ve Been Where You Are—and I Know the Way Forward

Five years ago, I turned my own health around. My A1c has been 5.4 or lower ever since, and I’ve completely eliminated my need for diabetes medications. Along the way, I also lost about 100 pounds—an unexpected but welcome side effect of making real, sustainable changes.

Now, I’m passionate about helping others achieve the same kind of success.

My Story in Brief

For most of my life, I was stuck in a frustrating cycle of dieting. I’d lose weight, only to gain it back—and then some. In 2004, my doctor diagnosed me with Type 2 diabetes and prescribed metformin. A nutritionist advised me to eat small, frequent meals throughout the day to keep my blood sugar stable. While I wasn’t perfect, I followed the rules. But despite my efforts, my diabetes continued to worsen. Eventually, my doctor added a sulphonylurea to my regimen.

Almost four years ago, routine blood work revealed that my A1c was dangerously close to 10. My doctor suggested trying a third medication before moving on to insulin injections. That was my wake-up call.

I knew I needed to take my health into my own hands. I dove into learning everything I could about diabetes—not chasing miracle cures or gimmicks, but real, science-based solutions. What I found changed my life.

I began making changes that stopped diabetes in its tracks and gave my body the chance to heal. These changes weren’t quick fixes, but they were sustainable. Over time, they became second nature. My body, my tastes, my cravings, and my relationship with food all transformed.

Today, I’m healthier and happier than ever. My mind is sharper, I have more energy, and I genuinely enjoy my life.
